The product
Semble Hushboard
75 ml · applicator brush included
Brush it on before bed. Peel it off in one satisfying piece in the morning — no rinsing, no washcloth, no mess. Turmeric, collagen, kojic acid, vitamin C and retinol work through the night while you do nothing at all.
- Dries down to a film that stays on your face, not your pillowcase
- Sets into a flexible film that moves with your face
- Peels away in one piece; no morning rinse unless residue remains
- Applicator brush in the box, so it is not a finger-painting exercise
- Full ingredient list published, not summarized
A brush-on overnight mask. You paint a thin layer onto clean, dry skin with the applicator brush supplied in the box. It sets into a flexible film that holds exactly where you placed it overnight rather than sinking in and disappearing.
In the morning, lift one edge and peel it away in one piece. No rinsing, no washcloth. It is a cosmetic at-home mask — not a chemical peel, a peel treatment, or a professional facial.
Start with clean, dry skin. Paint a thin, even layer across your face with the included brush, avoiding the eye area, lips, eyebrows and hairline.
Give it a few minutes to dry down. Wait until the layer is touch-dry across your whole face before you get into bed — that is the step that keeps the mask on your face and off your sheets, and it is also why a peel lifts cleanly.
In the morning, lift one edge and pull slowly. If any residue stays behind, warm water is enough. For wear time and frequency, follow the instructions printed on your carton.
Named on the front: turmeric, collagen, kojic acid, vitamin C and retinol.
We do not quote percentages, because we do not publish them. The full ingredient list is printed on the carton — read it before first use, particularly if you know of ingredients you react to.
This formula contains retinol and brightening ingredients. Wear a broad-spectrum SPF during the day, every day, while you are using it.

See It In Action
The mask being brushed on, drying into film, and peeling away in the morning — so you can see exactly what you are buying before you buy it.
Shared with permission.
Four minutes tonight. One clean lift tomorrow.
1
Brush on
Start with clean, dry skin. Use the included brush to paint a thin, even layer across your face, avoiding the eye area, lips, eyebrows and hairline.
2
Let it set
Give it a few minutes to dry down. Wait until the layer is touch-dry all over before you get into bed — that is the step that keeps it on your face and off the sheets.
3
Sleep in it
The film is flexible, so it moves with your face instead of cracking when you turn over. Nothing to rinse, nothing to launder.
4
Peel away
In the morning, lift one edge and pull slowly. It is designed to come away in one piece. If any residue stays behind, splash it off with warm water.
What the film actually feels like.
The honest version: you will notice it for the first minute or two as it dries — a light, even tightening — and then very little. Once it has set it stays put rather than moving around your face, and it comes off your skin in the morning rather than off your pillowcase.
The one thing that matters: let it dry fully before you get into bed. A wet layer is the only version of this that ends up somewhere it should not be.
Peeling it off in the morning is, we will admit, the best part.
Five ingredients, named on the front.
We are not going to quote percentages, because we do not publish them. What we can tell you is what each of these five is known for in cosmetic formulas — and nothing beyond that.
Turmeric
A traditional beauty ingredient with a long history in skincare, valued for its association with a fresher, more even-looking complexion. It is the ingredient that gives this formula its character — and its colour.
Collagen
A familiar conditioning ingredient that sits on the surface, helping skin look plumper and feel softer. It does not add collagen to your skin — nothing applied topically does — and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Kojic Acid
A well-known brightening ingredient in cosmetics, associated with a more even-looking tone. It is popular for good reason, and it is also part of why we ask you to wear sunscreen during the day.
Vitamin C
The ingredient people reach for when skin looks flat rather than tired. In cosmetic formulas it is associated with a radiant, fresher-looking finish.
Retinol
The best-known name of the five, and the one to introduce slowly. If your skin is not used to it, start with one night a week and build from there.
Wear sunscreen. This formula contains retinol and brightening ingredients. Use a broad-spectrum SPF during the day, every day, while you are using it. The full ingredient list is printed on the carton.
What to expect, honestly.
Here is the version we would give a friend.
The first morning
Skin usually looks fresher and feels smoother and more hydrated right after peeling. That is real, and it is mostly about surface smoothness and hydration. Enjoy it — but you will be looking at your face, not a different one.
The first week
If your skin has not met retinol or brightening ingredients before, go slowly. If it stings, burns or stays red, stop and let your skin settle.
With consistent use
A more even, more rested-looking complexion is a cumulative thing, not a single-night thing. Think in weeks, not mornings.
What it is not
It is a cosmetic mask. It will not treat acne, fade scarring, change your skin permanently, or work identically for everyone. Anyone promising you that is selling something other than skincare.
Individual results vary. If you have a skin condition, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor before using a product containing retinol.
Questions, answered plainly.
The mask is a warm golden colour in the tube and on the skin, because turmeric is one of the ingredients it is built around. What it does not do is leave that colour behind: it dries into a film that lifts away in one piece, taking the colour with it, and any residue rinses off with warm water. The one rule is to let the layer dry fully before you get into bed — a wet layer is the only way this ends up anywhere it should not be. Give it the few minutes it needs and there is nothing on the pillow in the morning.
Wait until the layer is touch-dry across your whole face before you get into bed — going to sleep on a wet layer is the main reason a peel-off mask does not lift cleanly. Follow the timing printed on your carton.
You will feel a light tightening as it sets, then it settles down. The film is flexible, so it moves with your face rather than cracking when you turn over.
That is what it is designed to do, and a thin, even layer with dry edges gives you the best chance of it. Where you have applied it thinly — around the hairline and jaw — it may come away in a couple of pieces instead. That is normal, not a fault.
Splash your face with warm water and it lifts away. Next time, apply a slightly thicker, more even layer and give it longer to set before bed.
Not usually. If any residue is left after peeling, warm water is enough — no cleanser required unless you would normally cleanse anyway.
It contains retinol, so build up rather than diving in. Start with one night a week and increase gradually if your skin is comfortable with it, staying within the frequency printed on the pack.
Patch test on your inner arm or jawline 24 hours before your first full application, and skip it if you are currently using prescription retinoids or exfoliating acids without checking with your doctor first. If it stings on application, remove it. Check the carton’s ingredient list against anything you know you react to.
Cleanse first, and apply to dry skin with nothing underneath — serums and moisturizers under the film will stop it setting properly. In the morning, peel, then carry on as normal, finishing with SPF. On nights you use Semble, skip other retinol or acid products.
No. Keep it clear of the eye area, lips, eyebrows and hairline. Peel-off films and eyebrows are not friends.
It contains retinol, so please check with your doctor before using it.
Start with one, especially if your skin reacts easily — patch test, see how it settles over a few uses, and restock if it suits you. The two- and three-bottle packs cost less per bottle and are there for people who already know they get on with it.
It is the same eight hours either way.
You are going to sleep tonight regardless. This is just a way of getting something out of it.
